Mining for Generations Turkey 2021

Embassy of Sweden in Ankara and The Swedish Trade and Invest Council (Business Sweden) together with partners is organizing the digital “Turkish – Swedish Mining for Generations” conference on February 18, 2021.

Turkish – Swedish Mining for Generations 2021 is a continuation of the successful platform organized during 2019 in Turkey by Business Sweden. The platform this year aims to further develop the Turkish – Swedish trade relations within the mining sector and discuss the outlook of Turkish mining, why Sweden is a suitable partner country, and provide insights and updates on financial solutions for the industry.

During the program the following topics will be covered:

Outlook on Turkish mining industry and the international importance of Turkish mining
Sweden as a technology provider for increased competitiveness
Financing solutions and guidance from Europe

Furthermore, the day will give opportunities to establish new contacts and nurture existing ones. The program will end with a digital B2B session for participants to better understand opportunities and possibilities for cooperation.

Background and Opportunities in Turkish Mining Sector

Furthermore, Turkey has grown to become a leading mining country the past 10-20 years and is today a large producer of materials such as gold, boron, copper.
Only since 2015, the Turkish mining industry has experienced total investments of more than USD 2.4 billion. This amount is expected to grow in the coming future.
The Turkish government has also accelerated its interest in the industry by establishing Maden Holding, a fully owned company by the Turkey Wealth Fund, which aims at increasing production volumes of for example gold.
